Magic Tales Radam Schwartz AJ0182 Organist, composer and long-time educator Radam Schwartz presents his latest edition of 'Conspiracy for Positivity'. This band is young, fresh and in the moment and that's just where Radam feels at his best! It's always an honor to converse with Radam on the gig or on the radio and delve into his varied musical endeavors Pete Fallico: A name like 'Conspiracy for Positivity' begs for explanation. Radam Schwartz: Well, most of the members of my group - and this is maybe the third generation of this group - are former students who are now professional musicians who studied with me and because of the nature of having young cats in the band who are trying to do something positive by spreading the word of jazz - sometimes in this world to do something positive, you almost have to conspire! PF: Your music seems to fit into the model first developed by Jack McDuff who emulated the Basie Band and the follow-up work of Charlie Earland. You're getting that same big band sound out of a smaller organ combo. RS: You hit it right on the nose. I always loved Jimmy Smith but the two bands that I really enjoyed were McDuff's band and Charles Earland's band. James Gibbs III - trumpet Anthony Ware - alto saxophone Misha Fatkiev - guitar (tracks 1-5, 7, 10) Ryan Clackner - guitar (tracks 6, 8, 9, 11) Joe Brown Jr. - drums and percussion and Anthony Nelson - baritone saxophone (tracks 3, 4, 7, 8, 10) Joe Brown Jr. - congas (track 11) Gary Oleyar - violin (track 7)
