The Last Song of Summer Romantic Music for 'Cello and Organ
Donald Moline, 'Cello Randall Swanson, Organ

 |
The cello literature of the mid-19th to the mid-20th century mirrors the political and historical upheaval of the era. No longer confined to the subservient, baroque role of basso continuo, the cello was treated by the classicists as an individual solo voice, a role that found full flower in romanticism. It is an evolution that continues today.
