Elizabeth's Music
A Collection of Music from the Elizabethan Era
 Queen Elizabeth I (1533-1603)

 |
The glorious reign of Elizabeth I began in 1558 . . . she ruled wisely for forty-five years, England prospered, the arts flourished and the foundations of empire were laid.
In childhood, Elizabeth, the daughter of music-loving Henry VIII, was well-schooled in the arts. An excellent keyboard player and a lover of dancing even in later life, she encouraged and carefully planned music for ceremonial occasions throughout her reign. - Howard Bass
