After debuting at the top of the classical charts in Canada, Bernard Labadie's recording of Mozart's Requiem went on to win two of Canada's most prestigious prizes: a Juno Award and an Independent Music Award (the "Indie"). Three years earlier, Labadie and the ensemble he founded, Les Violons du Roy, won a Juno for their recording of Handel's Apollo e Dafne. This doesn't even take into account their many Juno nominations.

His work has enjoyed this level of acclaim since he founded the ensemble in 1984 to explore Baroque and Classical era chamber music repertory, with emphasis on period performance technique.

This collection offers selections from those and many other recordings, including a preview of an upcoming release of Handel's Concert! Grossi, Op. 6. It's a chance to appreciate the tremendous variety of sound and style that has established the 15-piece ensemble as one of the world's finest chamber orchestras.
