DOR-90205 Cover - 20613 Bytes Latin American Masters - 6381 Bytes Cuarteto Latinoamericano was formed in Mexico in 1981 by three brothers; violinists Saúl and Arón, and 'cellist Alvaro Bitrán with violist, Javier Montiel.   Two years later they were awarded the prize of the Music Critics Association in Mexico.   Despite a busy concert schedule, the quartet has a special interest in teaching, having taught a whole generation of Mexican string players, and teaching presently at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, where they have been Quartet-in-Residence since 1987.   They're also the resident quartet at the San Miguel de Allende Chamber Music Festival in Mexico and at the Summerfest in Pittsburgh.
