These are a few of the evocative images of northern nations, from Alaska and Canada across the north Atlantic to Scandinavia, the Baltic and Russia.Qualities of spirit associated with these images are also intrinsic to the music from these countries: stillness, understated strength, quiet beauty, a deep connection to the natural world, isolation, melancholy, joy and wonder. …
