| What … is Joe Beck really like? [He] is nothing more or less than what he chooses to be at any given moment: guitarist, composer, arranger, producer. One is likely to find him playing be-bop in some saloon down-town as paying rent on a jingle date. He can be lyrical, demoniac, meticulous, outrageous...sometimes simultaneously.
